An enchanting woodland native, Bloodroot earns its name from the crimson sap that flows from its cut underground stems. The pristine 2" flowers unfurl their 8–10 delicate petals in daylight, revealing sunny yellow centres, while some specimens show hints of pink or grey on their undersides. Though each bloom lasts only a day or two, the rounded, blue-grey leaves with scalloped edges provide lasting beauty. Perfect for naturalizing along shaded pathways, tucked into rock gardens or paired with ferns and other shade-loving perennials.
