Black Adder Anise Hyssop

Long after other varieties have faded, Black Adder Anise Hyssop keeps growing and blooming. Unique, smoky plum, bottlebrush plumes open from black buds appear in midsummer to give borders and naturalized areas a wonderful splash of lateseason colour. This versatile, drought-tolerant bloomer is also excellent in cutting gardens and makes a fantastic dried flower. One of the easiest and most rewarding perennials to grow, this clumpforming giant performs well in most types of well-drained soil as long as it receives plenty of sunshine. Attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds. Aromatic, lanceshaped to ovate leaves are an eyecatching blue-green.
